Committees

Consist of 3 members, other than officers or Executive Board Members who are responsible for auditing the financial records of the Local.

Primarily responsible for drawing up a budget based on projected expenditures and anticipated revenue which usually comes from dues rebate.

Responsible for building the union's membership, develop programs to sign up new employees. Actively recruiting members to join and participate in union activities and programs. Recommendations for this committee consist of at least 3 union members, preferably officers, grievance representatives or stewards.

Purpose is to make health & safety issues known to the employees and to foster cooperation and dialogue with the employer in resolving health and safety issues.

This committee assist the local with communications and image building. The committee also works with the Region Communication Specialist when addressing issues with the media.

Responsible for maintaining, distribution of materials, and location of bulletin boards across campus

This committee is dedicated to the empowerment of women, labor history, community associated activities and endorsing the Western Region 6 Women's Committee.

Designs programs and ideas for local planning to increase participation at union meetings and social events.

Responsible for suggesting, proposing and drafting language for amendments to By-Laws of the local which do not conflict with the mandated Local and Unit Constitutions. By-Laws must be adopted according to constitutional procedures and then submitted to the office of the Statewide Secretary.

The purpose of this committee is to ensure the contract is enforced and violations are addressed. The committee meets to exchange information, review grievances, and develop procedures and record-keeping systems to maintain timely filing and processing of grievances.

This committee is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusion within our local membership and community. Promoting various programs, venues , and events for member participation.

This committee keeps the members and activist advised of education and training opportunities. It develops ideas for meeting the education and training needs of the Local.

The committee is responsible for acknowledging Veteran's among the membership. Promotes veteran services, programs, and events for the local, along with the Western Region 6 Veteran Committee activities.

This committee keeps members and officers informed of significant local and statewide legislative and political issues. Act in accordance with our Western Region 6 Committee for advisement.
